I painted one of these little flags for a July 4th festival several years
back, and it was so popular that I've continued to paint them in this
little size and larger. The process I use is fun because I've never
once measured or sketched anything before painting. I just start laying
on the stripes with big juicy strokes of color, and they always seem to
come out sort of straight and even. If they didn't that would be okay
too, because this is obviously an abstracted representation of the flag
and is not by any stretch supposed to be a replica.
