57 - Uplifting Rush

8x10 acrylic - sold
I sold this little painting almost exactly 2 years ago in Bluffton, SC.  I know this because there were pictures surrounding it that clued me in.  I had snapped a picture of the show itself, and just down from me I recognized the booth of my friend, Ron Brethauer.  Bluffton, yes - and was that actually 2 years ago?  Yes, because I didn't do Bluffton last year (2015), and not only that, but Ron tragically passed away September 2, 2015, so he couldn't have been there.
Indian Grief Prayer:
I give you this one thought to keep -
I am with you still - I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the sweet uplifting rush,
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone -
I am with you still in each new dawn.
