117 - All Day Long

12x24 acrylic on canvas
This is a painting from 2012.  I was at one of my favorite beaches - Flagler Beach.  I am not kidding when I say this man was out there surf fishing from sun up until almost sun down.  His gal came and went, but he persevered.   I really can't say whether he caught a bunch of fish.  I was more interested in his tenacity.  I snapped a few photos of them, and painted this picture from one of them.  I sold this a long time ago, and I remember the woman who bought it loved it because she said it looked like her in a bathing suit, with a little tummy bulge, and of course holding the red solo cup.  I've changed styles a lot in the past 5 years, but looking back - I still like this painting.

114 - Ebbs and Flows

8x8 acrylic on canvas
This, along with two complimentary paintings, sold at Boca Grande this past weekend.  It was definitely a weekend of ebbs and flows.  It's kind of hard to explain, and some things are just better left unsaid anyway.  B.G. is a beautiful place though, and I love being there.  It was a fun (and hot) show, and I got to hang out with some good chums.  Will go back soon.
